Jeffrey Sosland is an Assistant Professor of International Business and Trade at American University. He has also taught at Georgetown, University of Missouri, and George Washington University. The focus of his research is the politics of globalization and the political economy of the Middle East. He has published numerous academic works and has been an active participant in international conferences on the Middle East and world politics. He recently published a book on water scarcity and the Arab-Israeli conflict, Cooperating Rivals: The Riparian Politics of the Jordan River Basin (SUNY Press, 2007). He has advised a foreign ambassador, been cited on the OP-ED page of the Wall Street Journal, presented his research at the US State Department, appeared on C-SPAN and testified before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In addition, Dr. Sosland has received research grants from American University, Hebrew University, Georgetown University, and Harvard University. He has also published research on active/experiential learning. In his non-professional life he enjoys marathon running and being with his wife and three kids.
