March 7, 2008 --The Peace & Conflict Resolution students were among a group of prominent women and people from around the world who were in DC for a celebration of International Women's Day at the US Agency for International Development. First Lady Laura Bush spoke on ‘The Role of Women in Peace-Building and the Agency’s Efforts to Empower Women in Various Countries.”

March 6, 2008 --Dr. Don Fowler, a former chair of the Democratic National Committee, met with American Politics Seminar students to provide an insider's perspective on American political parties. Fowler has attended every Democratic National Convention since 1968 and will once again be a superdelegate at the 2008 DNC. He provided students with information about the creation of superdelegates and then shared his personal views on the ongoing Democratic primary battle.
